Nucleoplasty using endoscopic laser
Indications
- Patient with degenerative disc which causes chronic back pain
Procedure
- Local anesthesia administered
- After an MRI scan, check the damaged disc.
- Check the disc which causes pain through discography.
- Insert a tube up to the disc through a hole in the skin about 10-14cm off from the middle of the lower back.
- Pass the endoscope through this tube and coagulate the herniated disc area with laser.
