Nucleoplasty using endoscopic laser

Indications

  • Patient with degenerative disc which causes chronic back pain

Procedure

  • Local anesthesia administered
  • After an MRI scan, check the damaged disc.
  • Check the disc which causes pain through discography.
  • Insert a tube up to the disc through a hole in the skin about 10-14cm off from the middle of the lower back.
  • Pass the endoscope through this tube and coagulate the herniated disc area with laser.
